LitEx was designed around repeatable acquisition, preservation of original artifacts, cryptographic verification, and independently verifiable outputs consistent with established digital evidence handling practices.
Its design was informed by principles reflected in forensic tool validation methodologies, including the NIST Computer Forensics Tool Testing (CFTT) program, and digital evidence preservation guidance contained in NIST IR 8387.
